Together, we'll pave the way to a more fulfilling and connected life.

Hi! I’m Kris Garner, Emotional Literacy Educator & Founder of the Emotional Literacy Movement.

With over two decades of experience in the field of education, I embarked on my journey into emotional literacy after experiencing burnout from nearly a decade of working within the public education system.

My expertise includes a Bachelor of Education with a focus in Middle Years, a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, Responsive Classroom Training, training in trauma-informed systems, a deep understanding of polyvagal theory, attachment theory, self-compassion, various nervous system regulation techniques, and other areas of psychology. I'm also a certified yoga instructor and am trained in the the therapeutic potential of various arts practices.

In 2021, I founded the Emotional Literacy Movement to address a crucial gap I identified in our social systems, particularly in education. My mission was to emphasize the vital role of emotional regulation in learning, problem-solving, and relationship development, advocating for its inclusion as a foundational element in our schools and workplaces.

Taking this commitment a step further, I have developed a number of workshops and programs that have been delivered within schools, not-for-profit organizations, and the greater community.

My work centres around what I call the Four Pillars of Emotional Literacy: Emotional Anatomy, Emotional Regulation, Emotional Awareness, and Emotional Expression.

I am excited to join you on your journey of self-discovery and help you uncover the joy that comes from deepening your emotional intelligence.
