Emotional Processing Through a Somatic Lens

Welcome to our Emotional Processing Through a Somatic Lens program!

A unique opportunity to dive deeper into the world of emotional processing with experienced therapist Carly Chivers RTC and emotional literacy educator Kris Garner.

This six-session course offers a safe and supportive group learning/therapy environment where you can explore the subtleties of your emotional experience and develop the skills to regulate and process your emotions in a healthy way.

Through interactive mini-lessons, group therapy sessions, and skillful guidance, you will gain a deeper understanding of the science behind your emotions and how to use this knowledge to work with your body, rather than against it, during challenging moments.

We provide you with the tools and language you need to navigate challenging feelings within a safe container, rewiring your experience of safety within a group.

By actively participating in somatic emotional processing, you will experience the power of co-regulation and learn how to identify the subtleties of your emotional experience.

Meet the Your Facilitators

Kris Garner

With over two decades of experience in child care and education, Kris has a deep understanding of the challenges that can prevent students from effectively learning and engaging with academic content.

After experiencing acute burnout, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery and gained extensive knowledge in trauma-informed systems, fostering trauma resiliency, Bioenergetics, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, somatic practices for stress relief, and communication strategies. She received her Yoga Teacher Training in Ecuador in 2017, is trained in the Shamanic Arts (singing, dancing, theatre, and storytelling as traditional healing modalities) and has worked alongside psychologists and counsellors to deepen her knowledge of human psychology.

With her passion for the art of instruction, she founded The Emotional Literacy Movement in 2021, an agency focused on making emotional literacy education accessible to the public, particularly youth. Her diverse background and extensive knowledge make her an exceptional resource for anyone seeking to develop self-knowledge, advocate for their needs, set boundaries, process emotions, and effectively self-regulate.
